Alberta has held its second draw in which the invitations are doubled than January and the CRS score has been lowered as well.
It has almost been a month since the last draw that Alberta has now released the details of their second draw held in January.
On the date of 28 January 2021, Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) has issued 100 invitations to the Express Entry candidates with a CRS score of 360 only. The invited candidates can then apply for provincial nomination under Alberta Express Entry Stream.
As we all know that in order to be eligible for a provincial nomination through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), the applicant must first enter the Express Entry system.
Express entry is a program devised for handling the applications of applicants mainly from three Federal High Skilled Immigration streams mainly known as Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.
The candidates who get selected on the basis of the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). This system is implemented by IRCC for determining prospective and eligible candidates that make an impact on the Canadian Labour market. The factors included in determining the CRS score are education, age, working experience, and language proficiency in English or French.
IRCC hold draws in about every two weeks for inviting eligible for immigrating to Canada. The highest scoring applicants are then given an Invitation to Apply (ITA) so that they can apply for a Permanent Residency (PR) in Canada. Once the applicant gets the Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR), the final step remaining is landing on Canadian soil. After all that the applicant officially becomes a permanent resident of Canada.
Suppose an applicant receives an invitation from the province of Alberta and also receives a provincial nomination, they by default get 600 points added to their CRS score. Getting these scores will definitely guarantee that they will receive an ITA in the subsequent Express Entry draws as we all know from the previous that the CRS score usually hovers around 400 CRS score.
Alberta Express Entry Stream:
Applicants might have an opportunity to get an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination from Alberta, as well as nominations from other provinces through the Express Entry-aligned PNPs. They just need to have a valid working experience in an eligible occupation that prove to be helpful in supporting the economic development and diversification priorities of that particular province.
The AINP here provides an occupation list the Alberta does not consider. Other than those occupations have a pretty fair chance of getting considered.
The federal government of Canada increased the number of occupations that were not eligible to apply for a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) in the province of Alberta on November 1, 2020. However, applicants who have already received a Notification of Interest on or after November 1, 2020, can be selected through the Alberta Express Entry stream even if the occupation of the applicant is not approved by the federal government for LMIA.
As per the statistics, Alberta was allowed 6250 nomination certificates for the year 2020. But due to this pandemic, the nominations were reduced to 4000 only. All of these nominations were already allotted by the month of June 2020 only. This was the reason why Alberta does not hold any draw for the second half-year. Although the number of nominations for Alberta 2021 has not yet been disclosed once.
