British Columbia PNP

The main purpose of BC PNP is to attract foreign skilled professionals that are in high demand in the province and would like to become a permanent resident in Canada as well.

BC PNP has two immigration streams. One is Skills Immigration and the other Express Entry, both of which are divided into sub-categories.

Both of these streams are managed by B.C.’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). If the candidate is looking to apply through the SIRS, they first need to register an account. Once the registration is done, applicants’ profile is evaluated on factors like education, language proficiency, and working experience.

Candidates with the highest score from each sub-category are then invited through the draws held by British Columbia to apply for a Permanent Residency (PR) visa.

Upon receiving the invitation, the applicant has 30 days from the date of invitation to submit the application online through the BC PNP system.

After the submission of the BC PNP application, the candidates are notified of the province decision within the period of two to three months. If the nomination got successful, you will be eligible to apply to IRCC for a permanent residency visa under the Provincial Nominee Class. The validity of the nomination is approximately six months from the date of confirmation.

Express Entry BC stream

The EEBC is a program that is linked to the Federal Express Entry program. Express Entry applicants are verified and evaluated based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Other than the CRS, the applicant must also meet the minimum criteria for one of the IRCC’s Express Entry programs:

Federal Skilled Worker Program

Federal Skilled Trades Program

Canadian Experience Class

600 additional points are awarded to applicants who receive a nomination from one of the provinces. These points make the score high enough in order to be considered for a permanent residency visa.

Throughout the pandemic period, PNP has been fully functional and are continuing to do so since the start of the year 2021.
