216 Candidates invited in the BC PNP

British Columbia sent invitations to 8 entrepreneurs and 208 invitations to International Graduate and Skilled workers on the day of February 2, 2021.

The province of British Columbia (BC) held a draw through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

A total of 208 Skilled Workers and International graduates applicants were selected to receive invitations in order to apply for a provincial nomination under the Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC) and Skill Immigration stream. There was variation in the cut-off score for candidates as per the categories.

The corresponding cut-off scores for the Express Entry BC subcategories are given below:

  1. International Graduate: 100
  2. Skilled Worker: 104

Applicants in the above categories had a prerequisite requirement of having an already submitted profile under the Express Entry pool. Once the applicant received the Invitation to Apply (ITA) for a provincial nomination by B.C., the successful applicant is then awarded 600 additional CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points. These additional points effectively guarantee that the applicant will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for a Permanent Residency (PR) visa under the Express Entry program.

The required cut-off scores for the three Skill Immigration subcategories are given below:

  1. International Graduate: 98
  2. Skilled Worker: 98
  3. Entry Level and Semi-Skilled: 79

It was indicated by the British Columbia (BC) government that there was an impact of Coronavirus on the draws. Due to this case, BC has excluded many service and sales occupations from the draw.

B.C. holds their draw through various PNP categories and streams on a weekly basis.

Up till now, the BC PNP has issued around 740 invitations to the selected candidates.

In order to apply for the Express Entry BC subcategories or for the Skill Immigration, the candidate must first step create an online profile through the BC PNP portal and then register under the Skill Immigration Registration System (SIRS).

Candidates are then evaluated and issued scores on the basis of factors like working experience, language proficiency, education, and employment location.
