A total of 92,150 ITA,s have been issued up till now this year. With this total, the target achieved has surpassed the target expectations.
On 18th November 2020, Canada held it’s largest Express Entry draw.
In this draw, a total of 5000 ITA’s were sent to candidates to apply for permanent residency in Canada.
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score that was required for getting an Invitation to Apply (ITA) was 472. After getting the ITA, the candidate can then proceed forward to apply for a Permanent Residency (PR) Visa.
Express Entry Program is one of the immigration programs in the Canadian Immigration system. This program manages mainly three federal economic class programs. These Economic classes are given below:
Federal Skilled Worker Program
Federal Skilled Trades Program
Canadian Experience Class
In programs like Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), the applicants are provided with a CRS score for their profiles based on factors like age, education, working experience, and language proficiency.
After the evaluation of the profile, a comparison is done between the applicants, and the applicant with the highest CRS score is selected to give an ITA.
If in case there is a tie between applicants, then IRCC deploys the tie-breaker rule. While in this draw the CRS score requirement was 472 and above in order to get an Invitation to Apply (ITA). The timeline for the submission of the profile was selected to be 27 October 2020 at 06:18:11 UTC for an invitation to be sent.
In the draws that were held during this year, the CRS score usually hovered over around 470 for almost all the programs. The lowest CRS score was around 415 on August 6, 2020, for the Federal Skilled Trades program whereas the CRS score of 440 was required for the Canadian Experience Class. The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) usually required a higher CRS Score only because of the 600 points rewarded for the nomination procurement from one of the provinces. PNP is one of the pathways that offer an alternative pathway to permanent residency.
With this draw, the total number of ITAs has reached to 92,350. This is turning out to be a record-breaking year for the Express Entry Program as the number of ITAs has been highest to date.
Canada’s commitment has been to welcome around 400,000 new immigrants for the year 2021. So this means that another large set of ITAs is in line for deployment through the Express Entry program.
