Canada Breaking Down Travel Restrictions In The Upcoming Week


In an official statement, Prime Minister Trudeau said that the government is monitoring and keeping a sharp lookout on the COVID situation outside side as well as inside Canada.


In a press conference, Prime Minister told the reporters that Canada is planning to further ease the travel restrictions this summer. He also said that Canada is fully prepared to lift the travel restrictions once more people are fully vaccinated.

Trudeau quoted “We are talking about weeks not months anymore now”. He also said that we are certainly positive and hoping for more good news about the reopening will coming soon. Trudeau said that all these changes will certainly depend on the vaccination rate, COVID situation in general, and other countries situation as well.


In the announcement of 21 June, Candidates who have taken the full dose vaccination will be exempted to go to quarantine for 14 days. While some of the candidates who have recovered from Coronavirus and have taken the first dose of vaccine will be considered fully vaccinated in the Quebec province, but they will not be covered in this new change.

Prime Minister told that the government until now not ready to make the call on that but have also added that experts are currently looking into this matter and is hoping to have many clear answers in the upcoming weeks.


As of now, the Federal government of Canada has not yet disclosed what metrics will they use before the border reopening for tourism purposes. The Public Safety Minister said that Canada is looking to hit the target of 75% vaccination before the borders are reopened. In the previously held meeting, Ontario border mayors suggested that all these will be implemented by July 21. 

Prime Minister as of now did not provide an exact date about the scaling back of border restrictions. 

In summary, it is safe to say that Canada is more than willing to reopen the travel and tourism industry with some minor precautions. After all this time, candidates can now start planning for their Canada Immigration and make their way to the Canadian landscape.
